Ela morre no hospital.

Unlike Eva, Nina is simple and was born with the gift of magic, but tries not to exercise it. Nina will only not be able to master these skills when she loses her fiancé, Conrado, to her sister Eva. Upon meeting the boy, who was once in love with her, Eva doesn't think twice and turns on her charm. To help her win him over once and for all and get Nina out of her way, the pianist has the support of a great and dangerous ally: Zilda, an “evil witch”. The good and evil witches of Serranias will have to face the historian Flávio Falcão. Totally skeptical, he arrives in the city to prove in his doctoral thesis that witches do not exist.</div></i>

It featured Alinne Moraes, Ricardo Pereira, Maria Fernanda Cândido, Kadu Moliterno, Maytê Piragibe, Dudu Azevedo, Mel Lisboa and Henri Castelli in the main roles. The first scenes of the story were recorded in Amarante, Lisbon and Guimarães, cities in Portugal, where the story of the character Daniel began before being transferred to Brazil. The plot took place in Florianópolis, where external scenes and general shots were recorded, using the city's beaches and tourist attractions as a backdrop. The scenic city was built at Estúdios Globo, reproducing a fictional village in the capital of Santa Catarina.</i></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><i><br /></i></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><i><b>PLOT:</b></i></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><i>At the beginning of the plot, Daniel Cascais, who was born in the Azores, lives an impossible love with the beautiful and fiery Portuguese Almerinda. The girl's father, conservative Almirante Figueroa, does not accept his daughter's courtship, and hires thugs to separate the couple. So, Daniel decides to run away, disguising himself as a tour guide. While on the run, he runs into Brazilian businessman Sinésio Paiva and his wife, the hilarious van Mariléia, along with their daughters Lenita and Nina, who soon become interested in the boy. Daniel is also delighted with Nina, but his heart still beats strong for Almerinda and he is willing to face everything for his beloved. Daniel and Almerinda set a date and time to flee Portugal, but the admiral's henchmen intercept the plan. Beaten up and unconscious, Daniel is placed alone on an ocean liner bound for Brazil. As a stowaway, Daniel is trapped on the ship by order of the captain. But sisters Nina and Lenita, who are also returning home, appear once again to help him. So, Daniel manages to get rid of the police and throws himself into the sea. The waves end up taking the foreigner far away, more precisely to a fishing village in Santa Catarina, where he is rescued by a pair of sailors, Quebra-Queixo and Querubim. Suspicious, filthy and ragged, Daniel once again hits the beach and ends up discovering the harsh reality of the streets of a new country, Brazil. With no idea of the whereabouts of the adorable Azorean, the Paiva family returns to Brazil. The rest, however, is quickly consumed by business problems: Sinésio is amazed to discover that he is nearly broke. Not bad for the plans of his partner Jorge Junqueira, the feared J.J.. The two share the company's command, but they have very different profiles. Sinésio is a worker who, with great effort, built an empire and became one of the biggest names in the fishing industry. J.J., on the other hand, assumed part of the command of the firm after the death of his father, and wants to become the largest maritime landowner in the country.</i></div></div></div>

And old Raimundo does not hesitate to offer his eldest daughter, the beautiful and simple-minded Maria, in exchange for some supplies, because he knows that she will have a better life if she leaves with the unknown – and it will be one less mouth to satiate. Ricardo accepts the offer but releases Maria from her commitment to leave with him. The girl prefers to remain with her younger siblings, and Ricardo sets off towards his destination, leaving behind the image of the beautiful, hungry backcountry woman who will not leave his mind. Maria, for her part, cannot forget her benefactor either, and she hopes that one day he will return to take her away from that miserable life. In the bustling town of Xique-Xique, on Chapada Diamantina, Ricardo comes across a girl identical to Maria Alves, were it not for her dress and the manner of a refined and quick woman. He goes to her, believing that she was the same hungry woman he left weeks earlier in the backlands, but the girl doesn't like the muleteer's manner and treats him with disdain. Feeling despised and completely stunned, Ricardo humiliates the girl in front of everyone, which provokes the pride of her friends, ready to defend him. In his escape Ricardo accidentally kills one of the bullies and, fearful of his fate, he leaves for the mines. At the same time, Mrs. Dona Rosária and a young woman she had taken in arrived in Xique-Xique – the country woman Maria Alves, who had left her family after her father's death to try to make a living and rediscover her well-behaved drover. In the new city, Maria begins to be confused with the most illustrious local figure: Maria Dusá. A dazzling, fine-grained woman, desired by men and envied by women, Dusá is an expansive creature of great influence among the powerful around. Before long, she learns of the presence of her double in the city, which reminds her of the incident with the drover who had insulted her. Curious, she herself goes to meet the other Maria and learns about the sad story of the poor girl who lost her family to poverty, and whose goal in life was to find her great love. Willing to help Mariazinha (as she starts to treat her), Dusá sets off in pursuit of Ricardo to clear up the misunderstanding and take him back to his beloved's arms. But Ricardo Valeriano Brandão had become a bitter and disillusioned man, which gave him the strength to enrich himself in the mines and forget the one that had made him suffer. Maria Dusá, in turn, does not resist that man with such a strong character and ends up falling in love with him. And forgetting about his commitment to Maria Alves. Charlô makes a proposal to Otávio: one of the heirs will have to give up his share on behalf of the other, in a risky 100-day bet, a period that Charlô and his team have to raise the profit of Lojas Charlô's by a stipulated percentage.
